Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development Signs New Agreement for Domestic Labour Employment with the Republic of Kenya

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development signed a new agreement on Sunday, 5 July, in Riyadh with Kenya's Ministry of Labour and Social Protection to govern the employment of domestic labour from Kenya. The Saudi side was represented by Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labour Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and the Kenyan side by Minister of Labour and Social Protection Dr. Alfred Njaanga Mutua; the signing was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the first round of Saudi-Kenya political consultations. The agreement aims to ensure the orderly employment of Kenyan domestic workers in Saudi Arabia, protect the rights of employers and workers, regulate their contractual relationship, and update the cooperation framework between the two countries on domestic labour employment.
