With Abundant Production Exceeding 620,000 Tons.. Watermelon Sees Peak Demand During the Summer Season

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture reported that watermelon leads the Kingdom's summer fruits with abundant production exceeding 620,000 tons annually, peaking in demand during summer months, as part of its 'Halwa Bimawsimha' seasonal-fruit campaign. Cultivation is concentrated in Riyadh, Makkah, the Eastern Province, Al-Jouf, Al-Baha, Madinah, Qassim, Tabuk, Hail, Asir, and Jazan, with varieties including Charleston Gray, Klondike R7, Congo, Royal Sweet, and Crimson Round.
