Launch of the First Saudi Water Week Events with Wide Local, Regional, and International Participation in Jeddah

انطلاق فعاليات أسبوع المياه السعودي الأول بمشاركة محلية وإقليمية ودولية واسعة في جدة

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture launched the first Saudi Water Week in Jeddah, running from June 28 to July 2, 2026, in the presence of Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, with wide local, regional and international participation. The week includes two main events, the 7th Arab Water Forum and the second consultative meeting of the 11th World Water Forum, along with an accompanying exhibition on water technologies and innovations. Minister Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley said non-renewable groundwater consumption fell from about 21 billion cubic meters in 2016 to about 11.0 billion cubic meters in 2025, while desalinated water production capacity reached 16 million cubic meters daily, up from 9 million cubic meters daily in 2016.
