Launch of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Water Ministers Conference in Jeddah to Enhance International Cooperation in Addressing Water Resource Challenges

The fifth session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Water Ministers Conference launched in Jeddah under Saudi Arabia's presidency, under the theme "From Vision to Impact," running over three consecutive days with the participation of ministers and water specialists from OIC member states. The conference aims to strengthen cooperation and partnerships among member states and OIC-affiliated bodies, discuss modern technologies and digital transformation in water resource planning, launch joint water initiatives and projects, and stimulate investment and financing in the water sector. Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture for Water Dr. Abdulaziz bin Muharib Al-Shaibani noted that the Kingdom's integrated water resource management index rose from 57% in 2017 to 83% in 2023.
