Saudi-Russian Partnership to Enhance Environmental Protection and Biodiversity and Support Joint Cooperation

Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, signed a memorandum of understanding with Russia's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to cooperate on environmental protection. The MoU was signed by Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti and Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov. Cooperation areas include vegetation cover development, combating land degradation, sustainable forest management, protected area management, environmental oversight and waste management, research on endangered species, combating illegal wildlife trafficking, and protection of migratory bird routes and stopover areas. Implementation will proceed through information and expertise exchange, visits, conferences and workshops, and a joint working group.
