The Saudi Presidency of the sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16) participated in high-level engagements on the sidelines of the eightieth session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. From 23 to 25 September, the Presidency hosted a series of events aimed at advancing multilateral cooperation on land protection and drought, including a high-level session on accelerating agri-resilience investments ahead of COP30, a COP17 session titled "Re-imagining Resilience: From Arab Deserts to Mongolia's Gobi Desert", a session on financing food systems, and the Business4Land forum focused on private-sector engagement. The Presidency also organised a drought-focused event bringing together the presidencies of all three Rio Conventions: the UNFCCC, the CBD, and the UNCCD.
