Marking Saudi Water Week in Jeddah from 28 June to 2 July 2026, a report by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture traced the historical development of the Kingdom's water sector. It states the Kingdom now has 574 dams with a storage capacity of 2.6 billion cubic meters, and strategic storage capacity has risen to 21.8 million cubic meters.
