"Environment" Obtains ISO 42001 Accreditation for 2025 for Its Application of Artificial Intelligence Governance Standards and Practices

"البيئة" تحصل على اعتماد الآيزو (ISO 42001) لعام 2025م لتطبيقها معايير وممارسات حوكمة الذكاء الاصطناعي

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has obtained ISO 42001 accreditation for 2025 for artificial intelligence management systems, making it among the first ministries in Saudi Arabia to receive this certification. The accreditation recognises the Ministry's implementation of an integrated AI governance framework covering risk assessment, transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on safe and effective use of AI in decision-making, productivity, and sustainability. The Ministry has also carried out pioneering digital transformation projects including AI predictive models, satellite imagery analysis, and smart digital monitoring platforms.
