Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Balihishi, Mayor of Madinah Region and CEO of the Madinah Region Development Authority, addressed a high-level panel on "linking climate and housing" at the 13th World Urban Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan, emphasizing integrated urban models to support housing sustainability and climate resilience. He presented the "Madinah Model," citing its Voluntary Local Reviews for 2023 and 2026, the "Sustainable Development Atlas for Madinah Neighborhoods," and the Wadi Al-Aqiq development project, which converted a seasonal watercourse into an environmental and social corridor.
