Secretary of Madinah Region: The global challenge in housing lies in building integrated urban systems that ensure quality of life

Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Balihishi, Mayor of Madinah Region and CEO of the Madinah Region Development Authority, told a roundtable of local and regional governments at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Azerbaijan, that the global housing challenge now lies in building integrated urban systems that ensure quality of life. He said Madinah's approach uses Voluntary Local Reviews of the Sustainable Development Goals and data-driven urban decision-making, and is preparing to receive 30 million visitors annually by 2030.
