The Transport General Authority and the Madinah Development Authority Launch the Self-Driving Bus Experience in the Courtyards of Quba Mosque in Madinah

The Transport General Authority, in cooperation with the Madinah Region Development Authority, launched a trial of a self-driving shuttle bus (Robobus) in the inner courtyard of Quba Mosque in Madinah. The trial aims to assess service readiness at key sites and measure efficiency and quality, using AI, advanced sensors, and high-resolution cameras along a 700-meter route. The operational phase of the trial runs for 60 days and includes testing integration with infrastructure and field data collection via high-resolution digital maps.
