Saudi Arabia Affirms Commitment to Responsible AI Innovation at G20 Meeting

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha participated in the G20 Ministerial Meetings of the Digital Economy Working Group and the Task Force on Artificial Intelligence in Cape Town, South Africa, stating AI would drive major economic and social transformation over the next five years and urging G20 nations to strengthen collective action against widening disparities. He outlined three tracks for Saudi Arabia: using Generative AI to support healthcare innovation and drug discovery for diseases such as diabetes and sickle cell anemia; using AI Agents to aid industrial transformation by reducing emissions and improving economic efficiency; and advancing Physical AI, while affirming support for South Africa's G20 presidency.
