Saudi Arabia's data center operational capacity grew from 68 megawatts in 2021 to more than 440 megawatts in 2025, with over 60 data centers built by more than 20 companies and investments exceeding SAR16 billion, per the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The release cites Obeikan Investment Group's deployment of AI and IoT across 1,200 industrial machines and 280 production lines, processing up to 50,000 IoT signals per second, raising operational efficiency by up to 30% and growing revenues from about $750 million to $1 billion over four years. Deputy Minister for Technology Mohammed Alrubayan and Microsoft Arabia president Turki Badris commented on the Kingdom's AI and smart manufacturing progress.
