Communications Minister Inspects Readiness of Telecom Companies to Deliver Exceptional Hajj Experience for Pilgrims

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha conducted a field inspection of telecommunications companies and digital infrastructure in Makkah and the holy sites ahead of the 1447 AH Hajj season, reviewing network performance, operational and emergency plans, and service continuity mechanisms at high-density locations. Digital infrastructure developments include over 5,230 telecommunications towers (a 2.55% growth over the previous year), more than 2,000 kilometers of newly extended fiber optic network bringing the total to 31,000 kilometers (a 7.4% increase), full 100% coverage across the holy sites, and more than 4,200 technical personnel deployed for the season.
