Insurance Authority: Amendment to Annex (2) Standards for requesting approval to cover treatment costs

The Insurance Authority is keen on continuously developing the regulatory environment for the insurance sector to keep up with new developments and achieve a balance between the interests of all parties involved. In its effort to enhance the protection level for insured individuals and improve the quality of medical services provided to them, and to facilitate healthcare procedures without compromising oversight and quality standards, the Authority is presenting the draft amendment to Appendix No. (2) (Standards for Requesting Approval for Treatment Costs) as stipulated in Article (90) of the Executive Regulations of the Cooperative Health Insurance law. The aim is to increase the efficiency of medical approval processes and accelerate beneficiaries’ access to healthcare services, as well as to improve the mechanism for evaluating denied medical cases, ensuring greater impartiality and independence when there are medical disagreements.
