This project aims to: 1.Implementing the directives to SAIP to amend the Regulations for the Protection of Confidential Commercial Information issued by Minister of Commerce Resolution No. (3218) dated 25/3/1432H. 2.Developing IP legislation by establishing an independent statutory framework for trade secrets protection. 3.Filling the legislative gap in the current Regulations on trade secrets protection and remedies for infringement. 4.Ensuring consistency with relevant national laws and general rules. 5.Strengthening right holders’ protection against unfair competition. 6.Extending trade secrets protection to judicial proceedings. 7.Enhancing investment and technology transfer through effective statutory protection of trade secrets. 8.Improving enforcement by specifying judicial protection measures and procedures for adjudicating trade secret violations. 9.Promoting institutional awareness of confidentiality and legal accountability among persons and entities handling trade secrets.
