Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Authority announces the start of the Authority's operations as the independent regulator of the insurance sector

The Insurance Authority began operating officially as the independent regulator of Saudi Arabia's insurance sector following the entry into force of its regulation issued by Council of Ministers Resolution No. (85) dated 28 Muharram 1445 AH corresponding to 15/08/2023. Chairman of the Board Abdulaziz bin Hassan Al-Boug stated the Authority's objectives include regulating and supervising the insurance sector, protecting the rights of policyholders and beneficiaries, and raising insurance awareness. Existing laws, regulations, rules, and instructions related to the sector remain in effect until further instructions are issued, with no impact on existing insurance policies or claims.
