The Insurance Authority issued a decision on 26/05/2026 imposing a financial fine of SAR 807,000 on an insurance company for two violations related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements, specifically concerning the reporting of suspicious transactions and the monitoring and follow-up of operations and activities. The action was taken pursuant to Article 25 of the Anti-Money Laundering Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/20) dated 05/02/1439 AH, and Article 83 of the Combating Terrorism Crimes and its Financing Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/21) dated 12/02/1439 AH. The Authority noted that this measure falls within its supervisory role over the insurance sector and its efforts to enhance compliance with anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, and counter-proliferation financing requirements in alignment with FATF recommendations.
