Transferring Health Insurance responsibilities from the Council of Health Insurance to the Insurance Authority

As of Monday, March 4, 2024, the Insurance Authority announced the transfer of health insurance responsibilities from the Council of Health Insurance to the Insurance Authority, becoming the sole regulator overseeing the insurance sector, including health insurance, in the Kingdom. CEO Naji Al-Faisal Al-Tamimi confirmed there would be no impact on existing insurance policies or claims, with current regulations continuing to apply; from March 4, 2024, all health insurance complaints and inquiries transfer to the Insurance Authority, reachable via its complaints phone line (8001240551), its portal care.ia.gov.sa, or its IA CARE account on X.
