Convening the Extraordinary Meeting of the Electronic Media Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council States

At the invitation of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media of Saudi Arabia, the Electronic Media Committee of GCC member states held an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, 24 August 2022, with all Council states participating. The meeting addressed developments related to electronic media platform content, violations by some platforms of digital content controls and regulations adopted in GCC states, and observed targeted advertisements on some platforms containing content conflicting with Islamic societal values and principles and violating GCC media content controls.
