Saudi Cinema in Its Fourth Year: 30.8 Million Tickets and 4,439 Jobs

Marking the fourth anniversary of Saudi cinema, ticket sales surpassed 30.8 million since the General Commission for Audiovisual Media launched cinema in the Kingdom in April 2018. The number of cinemas reached 56, with 518 screens across 20 cities, screening 1,144 films (22 of them Saudi) in 22 languages from 38 countries, with total ticket sales of 30,860,956. The cinema sector has employed 4,439 young Saudi men and women as part of the Authority's efforts to grow the media market in line with Vision 2030 goals.
