Election of Al-Harbi as a Member of the Executive Committee of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names

Engineer Majdi bin Hamed Al-Harbi, Executive Director of Geographical Names at the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) and Secretary-General of the National Committee for Geographical Names, was elected a member and rapporteur of the Executive Board of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN), the first Saudi and Arab to hold this position. The election followed his role in the Saudi delegation at UNGEGN's fourth session held from April 28 to May 2, 2025, in New York, USA.
