The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) has launched the Geospatial Licenses and Permits System, described as a key pillar for regulating and activating geospatial economic activities. The system covers 18 economic activities accessible through GEOSA's digital portal — including ground surveying, map production, aerial photography and surveying, hydrographic surveying, geographic information systems work, and remote sensing, among others. The launch also included the announcement of a regulatory sandbox environment (Geo-Sandbox) to support researchers and innovators in testing geospatial solutions, as well as the launch of a digital services portal enabling entities and individuals to access geospatial services including licenses and permits.
