The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information concluded the one-day 'National Geospatial Platform 2025' forum in Riyadh on a Wednesday, with participation from government entities, UN geospatial information committees, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and the University of Melbourne. The forum's National Geospatial Governance Excellence Award 2025 was given to the Environment, Water and Agriculture cluster, the Eastern Province Development Authority, Madinah Region Municipality, Riyadh Region Municipality, and the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites. The event included two workshops on geospatial leadership and open geospatial software, and launched a geospatial awareness initiative themed 'Your Awareness Protects the Place'.
