The United Nations Commends Saudi Arabia's Experience in National Geospatial Governance and the National Geospatial Information Ecosystem as One of the World's Best Practices

The United Nations commended Saudi Arabia's experience in national geospatial governance and its National Geospatial Ecosystem as one of the world's best practices, during the third meeting of the UN working group on policy and legal frameworks for geospatial information management, hosted by the Kingdom (represented by GEOSA) in Riyadh from 7 to 9 October 2025. The meeting was attended by official delegations from 20 countries — Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Australia, Belgium, India, Italy, Canada, Qatar, Bahrain, Finland, Mexico, Algeria, Morocco, Malaysia, Poland, the UAE, Kuwait, and South Africa — along with UN geospatial information experts. National geospatial governance is guided by the UN's Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF).
