The Kingdom Participates in the Fourth Session of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN) in New York

Saudi Arabia, represented by its National Committee for Geographic Names and led by GEOSA President Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel, took part in the Fourth Session of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN), held in New York from April 28 to May 2, 2025. The session covered member states' progress on standardizing geographic names and integrating them with modern technologies. Al-Sayel also referenced the Kingdom's hosting of the 10th Arab Forum for Geographic Names in Jeddah on November 10-12, 2024, at which the Arab Division approved Riyadh as the seat of its general secretariat.
