Head of GEOSA: Through Participation in the Geospatial Week GSW2025, We Seek to Strengthen the Kingdom's Leadership Regionally and Globally

رئيس "الجيومكانية": نسعى من خلال المشاركة في "الأسبوع الجيومكاني GSW2025" لتعزيز ريادة المملكة إقليميًا وعالميًا

The Geospatial Week GSW2025 conference, organized by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) with Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, opened during 7-11 April in Dubai. The head of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA), the regional Arab representative in ISPRS, Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel, said Arab hosting of the event for a second consecutive time (after Egypt in 2023) reflects the growing role of Arab states in the global geospatial arena. He noted GEOSA's role in building a National Geospatial Platform and launching a National Geospatial Academy, and said the Kingdom received final United Nations approval to host the UN Global Centre of Excellence for the future geospatial ecosystem in Riyadh; the Kingdom is also seeking to host ISPRS 2030 as the first Arab country to do so.
