Civil Defense Affirms the Importance of Lighting Fires in Designated Areas to Preserve Vegetation Cover and Natural Resources

The General Directorate of Civil Defense affirmed the importance of lighting fires only in designated areas, avoiding wild parks, vegetation cover, or dry trees and grass, to protect lives and property. It noted that fires from unsafe use destroy vegetation cover, harm wildlife, and deplete natural resources, and it called for following its published safety guidance and calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 998 in other regions, for emergencies.
