GASTAT President opens the high-level workshop entitled “big data policies”

GASTAT President Fahad Aldossari opened a high-level workshop entitled "Big Data Policies", organized by the International Monetary Fund in Riyadh on Monday, 19/01/2026, exploring ways to leverage big data for macroeconomic statistics and government decision-making. He reviewed the Kingdom's achievements including the National Strategy for Statistical Development and the General Population and Housing Census 2022, and referred to the Kingdom's preparations to host the 6th United Nations World Data Forum (UNWDF) in November 2026. Separately, GASTAT, in collaboration with the UN, announced the opening of registration for the 6th UNWDF, scheduled in Riyadh from 9 to 12 November 2026, alongside the Second Saudi Statistics Forum as part of the Road to Riyadh events.
