The General Authority for Foreign Trade Holds a Virtual Workshop to Introduce Trade in Services Within the Framework of the World Trade Organization and Free Trade Agreements

The General Authority for Foreign Trade, represented by the Agency of International Organizations and Agreements, held a virtual workshop on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, to introduce trade in services within the framework of the World Trade Organization and free trade agreements. The workshop targeted newly joined members of the Saudi technical negotiating team's services group from various government entities, aiming to raise awareness of the General Agreement on Trade in Services, explain Saudi Arabia's commitments including market access and national treatment obligations, and highlight the role of trade in services in free trade agreements. The Authority chairs the Saudi technical negotiating team, which comprises nine technical groups covering goods, services, investment, government procurement, texts and provisions, e-commerce, rules of origin, intellectual property, and economic evaluation.
