Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Foreign Trade, is hosting a preparatory meeting of Arab Trade Ministers on Thursday, 12 March 2026, via video conference, in preparation for the Fourteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization scheduled to be held in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 26–29 March 2026. The meeting, opened by Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, is attended by the GCC General Secretariat, the Arab League, the WTO, and the Islamic Development Bank. It aims to coordinate the Arab Group's negotiating positions and define its demands to the WTO, with the expected adoption of a ministerial statement covering WTO reform, the development dimension of the multilateral trading system, and agriculture negotiations and food security. Saudi Arabia has held the position of coordinator of the Arab Group at the WTO for eight sessions since 2011.
