GACA Organizes Workshop on "Cybersecurity in the Advanced Air Mobility Ecosystem"

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) hosted a workshop today at its corporate headquarters in Riyadh titled "Cybersecurity in the Advanced Air Mobility Ecosystem." The event brought together representatives from relevant national entities, alongside a select group of experts and specialists in cybersecurity, aviation, telecommunications, and emerging technologies. The workshop aimed to foster dialogue and facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge among stakeholders regarding the cyber aspects of the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem. It highlighted the critical importance of safeguarding digital systems, communication networks, and the technical infrastructure supporting modern aerial operations against escalating cyber threats, thereby enhancing operational safety, reliability, and continuity. The sessions reviewed the key cybersecurity challenges and considerations facing the AAM ecosystem, while exploring relevant international best practices and case studies. An interactive session was dedicated to knowledge-sharing among participating entities, exploring future collaboration opportunities, and building a shared understanding of the technical and regulatory cybersecurity requirements within this emerging sector. This workshop is part of GACA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and integration among stakeholders, leverage national and international expertise, and contribute to developing a clear roadmap for studying the technical and regulatory dimensions of cybersecurity in advanced air mobility. This initiative ultimately supports the safe and sustainable growth of the sector within the Kingdom. Through this initiative, the General Authority of Civil Aviation reaffirms its commitment to working closely with partners and stakeholders to keep pace with rapid technological advancements in the aviation sector. By fostering knowledge exchange, GACA aims to build a secure, reliable, and sustainable advanced air mobility ecosystem that aligns with international best practices and standards.
