The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) handed over operating permits for four heliports operated by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). The permits were handed over after all four heliports fulfilled the requirements of the General Authority of Civil Aviation Regulations (GACAR), Part 138. The permits authorize both daytime and nighttime operations. GACA Executive Vice President for Aviation Safety and Environmental Sustainability Captain Sulaiman Al-Muhaimedi handed over the operating permits at GACA’s headquarters in Riyadh to Royal Commission for AlUla Chief Operating Officer Eng. Sultan AlKhuraissi. The step comes as part of GACA’s efforts to develop infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency, and diversify air transport options, in line with the objectives of the Aviation Program and Saudi Vision 2030. It also contributes to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a global tourism and cultural destination and advancing the aviation sector toward greater efficiency and excellence.
