Saudi Arabia Ranks First in E-Government Services 2024 for the Third Time

Saudi Arabia ranked first among Middle East and North Africa countries in the E-Government and Mobile Services Maturity Index for 2024, issued by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), achieving a maturity rate of 96% in the overall assessment. This marks the third consecutive time the Kingdom has topped the index, having progressed from fourth place in 2020 to second in 2021 before taking the lead in 2022 and retaining it in 2023 and 2024. Saudi Arabia scored 99% in "Service Availability and Development", 93% in "Service Usage and Beneficiary Satisfaction", and 99% in "Public Outreach", outperforming 16 countries across 100 priority government services. The Digital Government Authority's Governor, Eng. Ahmed Bin Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, attributed the achievement to leadership support, inter-agency integration, and the adoption of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.
