Riyadh will host the 19th edition of the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) under the patronage of the Digital Government Authority, with the participation of more than 700 specialists from 60 countries, from 28 September to 1 October 2026. The conference, themed "Advancing Digital Governance through Innovation, Trusted and Human-Centered Services," is organized by the United Nations University in collaboration with Prince Sultan University. Governor of the Digital Government Authority Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammed Alsuwaiyan said hosting the conference reaffirms Saudi Arabia's role in leading global digital transformation, noting it aligns with designating 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence. The source also notes Saudi Arabia ranked second globally in the Government Technology Maturity Index (GTMI) and first in E-Government and Mobile Services.
