Board of Grievances: Expiry of the Time Limit Does Not Mean Forfeiture of the Right Nor Does It Prevent Punishment of the Party Responsible for It

ديوان المظالم: فوات المدة لا يعني سقوط الحق ولا يحول دون معاقبة المتسبب فيه

No action neededAwareness

The Board of Grievances published an interpretation of Article 9 of the Execution Law before the Board of Grievances, clarifying that rejection of an execution request due to expiry of the time limits set in Article 8 does not extinguish the underlying right or obligation, does not affect its validity, and does not prevent punishment of the party responsible. Article 8 sets a maximum of ten years from the right's arising and thirty days from the demand to file an execution suit, or five days if enforcing an urgent judgment.
