Ministry of Municipalities and Housing issues Regulatory Requirements for Event Halls and Exhibitions

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has approved regulatory requirements for event halls and exhibitions used for commercial, entertainment, or cultural purposes. The requirements include obtaining a municipal licence supported by a valid commercial registration and Civil Defense approval, ensuring that venue locations conform to urban planning regulations whether inside or outside urban boundaries, and complying with detailed internal space standards covering the main hall, hospitality areas, reception, and services. Operators must also adhere to the applicable urban building code or approved urban guidelines, meet fire prevention and protection requirements, install surveillance cameras, and provide inclusive access for persons with disabilities through equipped entrances, ramps, and parking. The ministry stated that these requirements form part of an integrated regulatory framework supporting service quality, operational efficiency, and local economic development in line with Vision 2030.
