The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is developing a unified digital system for managing and maintaining urban roads across Saudi Arabia, described as one of the ministry's key strategic projects. The system relies on advanced digital analysis and geospatial mapping technologies to improve road network quality, enhance transparency in monitoring technical conditions, and prioritise maintenance accurately. It features a comprehensive database covering road inventory, technical condition assessment, periodic maintenance scheduling, and work-order issuance, and integrates with national platforms and local municipal systems. The project aims to improve budget allocation for municipalities, raise road safety levels, increase beneficiary satisfaction, and support Saudi Arabia's goal of ranking among the top six countries globally in road network quality, in alignment with Vision 2030.
