Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: Inspection of More Than 5,000 Food Samples and Execution of More Than 29,000 Regulatory Visits to Serve the Guests of the Most Merciful

During the Hajj season of 1447 AH, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Presidency of Makkah, conducted more than 29,000 regulatory visits to catering kitchens and food establishments in Makkah and the holy sites, and inspected more than 5,000 food samples through mobile and fixed laboratories. The inspection system deployed 5 mobile laboratories, 10 on-site testing devices, and approximately 40 regulatory vehicles to ensure rapid verification of food safety across high-density pilgrim areas. Regulatory activities covered central markets, storage sites, and catering facilities, with field campaigns aimed at raising compliance levels. The Ministry confirmed that no food poisoning cases were recorded during the 1447 AH Hajj season.
