Ministry of Municipalities and Housing Issues Updated Contractor Classification Mechanism to Enhance Project Quality and Raise Sector Efficiency

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing launched an updated mechanism for the contractor classification system, aimed at developing the contracting sector, raising project execution efficiency, and enhancing transparency and integrity. The updated mechanism relies on an integrated evaluation model covering technical and financial aspects, prior executive experience, and institutional capacity, across fields including construction, communications and IT, catering, cybersecurity, exhibitions and conferences, real estate development, and operation and maintenance services. It operates through a fully automated digital system on the "Balady" platform, allowing beneficiaries to complete classification procedures electronically from application through evaluation to issuing and self-printing the classification certificate, without needing to visit government entities; applications can be submitted via balady.gov.sa.
