Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: Qualitative Regulatory and Enablement Shifts in the Street Vendors File During 2025

وزارة البلديات والإسكان: نقلات تنظيمية وتمكينية نوعية في ملف الباعة الجائلين خلال 2025

No action neededAwareness

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced that its Street Vendors Support, Development, and Empowerment Initiative achieved qualitative regulatory and operational shifts during 2025, including the development of an integrated value-chain system covering regulatory, supervisory, and empowerment dimensions, and the adoption of new regulatory requirements to streamline beneficiary journeys and formally integrate street vending into official frameworks. The Ministry piloted organised municipal incubator models in several cities to provide modern operating environments and built developmental partnerships with governmental, non-profit, and investment entities. The initiative also developed a national model for street vendor development in collaboration with academic institutions and research centres, and contributed to outcomes including modernised databases, improved urban operating sites, and enhanced income efficiency for vendors, in alignment with Vision 2030 targets.
