The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has announced an update to the requirements for tourist hospitality facilities, aiming to develop the tourism investment environment and improve the quality of services provided to citizens, visitors, and residents in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The updated requirements cover aspects related to location, urban planning, architectural design, operational requirements, general hygiene, safety, secure electronic payment methods, and accessibility for people with disabilities. The Ministry noted that the requirements were prepared drawing on international best practices and are integrated with local frameworks such as the Saudi Building Code and regulations approved by the Ministry of Tourism and other technical and regulatory bodies. Compliance with these requirements is described as a shared responsibility intended to create a safe investment environment and balance urban development with the preservation of urban identity.
