Ministry of Municipalities and Housing approves Sidewalk Occupancy and Commercial Activities Organization Requirements
وزارة البلديات والإسكان تعتمد اشتراطات إشغال الأرصفة وتنظيم الأنشطة التجارية
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has approved updated requirements for the occupancy of public sidewalks, regulating commercial use of spaces adjacent to shops, restaurants, and cafés to ensure pedestrian flow and enhance urban aesthetics. The requirements set detailed standards for outdoor seating arrangements, canopies, barriers, and plants, balancing commercial investment needs with the rights of road users while preserving sidewalks as open pedestrian corridors. Permits will be issued electronically through the Balady — Municipal Licensing Platform, providing investors with clarity on application steps and regulatory requirements.
