"Municipalities and Housing" Approves Requirements for Regulating Mobile Carts and Raising Compliance and Safety Standards
"البلديات والإسكان" تعتمد اشتراطات لتنظيم العربات المتنقلة ورفع معايير الامتثال والسلامة
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing approved new municipal requirements regulating mobile cart activities to strengthen compliance, provide a safe operating environment, and raise health and food practice standards. Requirements set designated parking locations at least 10 meters from fuel stations, banning stops in residential areas or near emergency exits, and require slip-resistant equipment, ventilation keeping cart interior temperature at or below 25°C, licensing and site permits. Food carts must use potable water, dedicated produce-washing equipment, may not prepare sauces inside the cart, and must follow Saudi Food and Drug Authority cooling/heating/thawing instructions, plus clear display of consumer product information.
