The Saudi Accreditation Authority is organizing a workshop on "The Role of Accreditation in Developing the Infrastructure for Conformity Assessment Activity in the Kingdom."
The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) organized a workshop yesterday entitled "The Role of Accreditation in Developing the Infrastructure for Conformity Assessment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia." The workshop was attended by representatives from the accreditation and quality sectors in both the public and private sectors, as well as representatives from Arab accreditation bodies. It was held as part of the 11th General Assembly meetings of the Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC), which the Kingdom is hosting. The workshop aimed to enhance the quality of products and services and addressed several key themes, most notably: the role of ARAC, regional cooperation, the Kingdom's leading role in this context, and the benefits of ARAC's Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MLA) and its contributions to facilitating trade and improving quality and compliance standards. The workshop also addressed ways to enhance quality in the public sector. Representatives from the Jordanian Accreditation System, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) participated, sharing their insights on the impact and importance of accreditation in strengthening the quality infrastructure. The workshop also included presentations on the experiences of leading companies in the private sector.
