The Saudi Accreditation Center achieves further international recognition and confirms its leadership in the fields of accreditation and quality for products, processes, and services.
In a new national achievement, the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) has received international recognition from the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) in the field of accrediting bodies that certify products, processes, and services according to the international standard ISO/IEC 17065, as well as accrediting bodies that certify quality management systems – information security management systems according to ISO 27001. The number of accreditation areas recognized by the IAF for SAAC has reached eight. In this context, the CEO Dr. Adel Alkeaid indicated that the international recognition obtained by the center is a significant national achievement in supporting and strengthening the quality infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It helps build trust between producers, consumers, and other stakeholders, contributes to supporting the economy, and facilitates international trade through mutual recognition in the fields of accreditation and conformity assessment. SAAC is the only national body authorized to grant accreditation to conformity assessment bodies in multiple fields. To be a fundamental and important pillar of the quality infrastructure system, and to contribute to improving the services of entities, and to raise the level of quality and adequacy of services and products, in order to preserve consumer health and environmental safety and to support the national economy and its prosperity.
