The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) organized a workshop yesterday titled "The Role of Accreditation in Developing the Infrastructure for Conformity Assessment Activities in Saudi Arabia." The event was attended by representatives from the government and private sectors, as well as delegates from Arab accreditation bodies, as part of the activities of the 11th General Assembly of the Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC), hosted by the Kingdom. The workshop aimed to enhance the quality of products and services, covering several key pillars, most notably: the role of the Arab Accreditation Cooperation, regional cooperation, the Kingdom's leading role in this context, and the benefits of the ARAC Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (ARAC MLA) and its contributions to facilitating trade and improving quality and compliance levels. The workshop also addressed ways to strengthen quality in the government sector, with participation from representatives of the Jordanian Accreditation System (JAS), the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). These representatives shared their insights on the impact and importance of accreditation in bolstering the quality infrastructure. Furthermore, the workshop featured presentations on the experiences of leading companies from the private sector.
