The Kingdom Hosts the Third Annual Meeting of the General Assembly of the Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies "IFHAB"
The Kingdom, represented by the Saudi Accreditation Center, hosted the third annual meeting of the Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies "IFHAB" in Mecca today, with participation from national accreditation bodies of member states in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and in the presence and participation of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, the Secretary-General of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries "SMIIC," His Excellency Dr. Ihsan Ovut, and the representative of the Economic Affairs Department at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Baraa Tarabzouni, who delivered a speech on behalf of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies, Dr. Adel Alkeaid, who emphasized in his opening speech the importance of enhancing efforts among member states to develop the Halal accreditation system within the framework of the global Halal quality infrastructure under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He pointed to the growing role of Halal trade, its global expansion, and promising economic opportunities. er states to enhance economic and trade integration, and unify efforts to develop the global Halal sector.
